HawkQuest

Hello! This is a brief, informal quiz specifically for KU students (or potential KU students!) to help you learn about yourself and start thinking about careers and the majors that may assist you in developing the necessary skills to be marketable in those careers after you graduate.

The quiz includes skill-based action statements that represent actions you may or may not be interested in performing regularly in a future career.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Please rate each statement by selecting either 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 (see below) on each statement's corresponding scale. The assessment should take you less than half an hour to complete, and your results will be presented when you are finished and will also be emailed to you.

It is suggested that you not spend too much time selecting a rating for each statement. Rather, choose each rating fairly quickly based on your initial instinct.

RATINGS EXPLAINED:

"1" rating: I have NO desire to regularly perform that activity in a future career.

"2" rating: I have very little desire to regularly perform that activity in a future career.

"3" rating: I am fine performing this activity regularly in a future career, but it is not something I necessarily desire.

"4" rating: I have some interest in performing this activity regularly in a future career.

"5" rating: I definitely think I would want to perform this activity regularly in a future career and would really enjoy it!

YOUR RESULTS:

Your results will provide career suggestions based on your responses, as well as potential majors offered at The University of Kansas (KU) that can help you develop the skills needed to become marketable in these careers. Some careers listed may require education beyond an undergraduate degree. Remember, a major does not dictate the career you will have after you graduate. Rather, a major can help you develop the necessary skills to be marketable in a number of different careers and allow you to gain transferable skills to help you prepare for the world of work and navigate through career transitions.

Use the links within the results to further explore your options and gather more information. Additionally, we recommend you work with a career coach and/or academic advisor at KU for further guidance and information on how to utilize your results.
